Kaneka Panel Systems in Adelaide

Kaneka Panel Systems in Adelaide

"<yoastmark

Kaneka panels were installed extensively in Adelaide and South Australia as a whole, over the last few years.  It is also fair to say they were probably the best selling panel in Adelaide for quite a while.  You may also have Solar Frontier panels, and these are very similar to Kaneka’s.

These amorphous panels are ideally suited to Adelaide as they cope with the heat better than monocrystalline and polycrystalline panels.   However, they do have issues which are particular to thin film panels.

On the roof, either under the panels or by the side of the panels is at least one box which contains fuses. This is the weak point of the system.

It is fairly common for the fuses to blow, and then your panels will not be producing power.  If you have a small system it may stop your whole system working.  This will be obvious because there will be no lights on the inverter, and the inverter will appear to be dead.

However, if you have a larger system, you may have lots of fuses, and it is harder to tell. Your system will still be working, but not making as much power as it should.  It is really important that you monitor the performance of your system, and check it regularly.  You should have received a performance graph when you bought the system, and this will help.

What Can We Do To Help You?

We are very experienced in fixing up these systems and getting them working again. So if you have problems with your Kaneka thin film system, call us today and we will get it working again.  If you are not sure what to look for, give us a call.

Just note though, that if your inverter is actually broken, we will not be able to replace it with a new inverter, as all new inverters are transformerless, and you cannot put a transformerless inverter on Kaneka panels.  It will probably not work, but in the event that the inverter does work, it will degrade the panels until they actually stop working.

Be wary of companies who offer to fix your Kaneka system for you, but they don’t have the experience.  You need to keep the fuses, as these are protecting your panels. Putting a larger fuse in to prevent it blowing is not the answer, as this will not protect your panels.  So as tempting as it is, don’t do it!
